PROCEDURES AND EFFECTIVENESS

Oral Cancer Screening –As part of every examination at Integrity Dental, your dentist will always examine your mouth for any signs of oral cancer. While examining the top/ bottom of your mouth, gums, and cheeks, your dentist will be looking for several things (as recommended by the American Dental Association):

  • red or white patches
  • sores that bleed easily or do not heal
  • thick or hard spots or lumps
  • roughened or crusted areas
  • areas of numbness, pain or sensitivity

Remember to always communicate any concerns with your provider to ensure efficient examinations. Catching signs of oral cancer early can help lead to swift and effective treatment.
